Being an adult is hard. Really hard. So, Sunday afternoon, we notice that the new laminate tile in the kitchen had a bubble in it. Weird. We decided we should call the company that installed it Monday morning. A couple of hours later...water was squishing out of all the tile in the kitchen and moving into the dining room! All the flooring in the kitchen is ruined. We had this installed 2 weeks prior. Not good. Not good at all!
So, after getting a run around from the flooring company and having an inspector come out and argue with us (he was "confused"...bless his heart), our new floors are going to be ripped out and reinstalled 3 weeks to the day after they were initially installed. Ugh. Basically, when the installers pulled the fridge out and pushed it back in, they crushed the water line to the fridge. It was spraying this mist and every time the ice machine was pulling water to make ice and every time we got water out of the fridge, it had a steady stream of water coming out. For 2 weeks. It was going in-between the tiles and was going under the tile. How that little inspector man was confused by that situation is beyond me! Whatever. At least he agreed to replace it at no cost to us...even though he was confused. I swear he said that same sentence at least 20 times!
Additionally, we had to get a plumber out to fix the water line, fix the toilet (because after installation of the floors, the water line didn't reach the toilet anymore) and fix our water heater. The water heater was a separate issue. So, $600 later, everything is fixed. Well, almost. There is a leak in our front yard where the water hose connects. Since it was raining yesterday, they couldn't dig out the ground around it and find out where the issue was stemming from. So, we have to have them back out next Friday when it is sunny to look at that and put the toilet back in. Oh yeah, the flooring company said they wouldn't take the toilet out and reinstall it...we had to do that...to avoid further complications. Fine. Whatever. Understandable. So, the front yard issue will hopefully be taken care of next week. I got our water bill for February today...$106!!! It should be at least half of that! Ugh.
Being an adult really sucks sometimes.
